Born 1981 in Cologne. Lives and works in Cologne, Germany.
2009 – 2013 studied at Academy of Media Arts Cologne with Prof. Johannes
Wohnseifer & Prof. Mischa Kuball. Degree with distinction.

Alexander sees art as a condition of constant negotiation. As an visual artist, filmmaker, photographer and as a curator, Basile creates images! The role he takes up whilst doing so merely supports him as a kind of structure or visual focus, in a world of complex (social) relations. In 2012 he has been awarded with the Media Art Prize NRW Germany for Young Artists and has won the German photo book award.

In 2021 his work was shown at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in the group show Subjekt und Objekt along artists such as Andreas Gursky and Bernd and Hilla Becher.
